We hope your 2018 is off to a great start! We are excited to share this heartwarming story of a baby in Nepal who was saved with the help of your Little Lotus purchase.
This is Salina, who lives in a remote part of Nepal. Salina lost her two infant sons in the earthquake that devastated Nepal in 2015. Last year, she got pregnant again. However, her baby was born prematurely and weighed only 3 pounds. An Embrace infant warmer helped to save her baby's life, thanks to our nonprofit partner One Heart World-Wide. Her son is now healthy and thriving. It's stories like this that make our work so worthwhile.
Thank you for being a part of our mission. We hope to save many more babies this year!

Little Lotus products help babies sleep better by using NASA technology to keep them at the ideal temperature. The inspiration for Little Lotus came from our first product, the Embrace infant incubator, which has helped to save over 200,000 babies in 22 countries.
We learned that the technology in our incubators was not only helping to save premature babies, but also helping them sleep better. With each Little Lotus sale, we donate proceeds to ensure more babies have access to our Embrace infant incubator.
Nathan was one of the babies helped with the Embrace infant incubator. Born prematurely and weighing only 2 pounds, he was found abandoned on a street in China. Nathan was rescued by Little Flower Orphanage, and kept in the Embrace infant incubator for a month. Not only did he survive, but he was then adopted by a family in Chicago, where he now lives. Nathan is now 5 years old, and is a happy, thriving and vibrant little boy who lives life with abandon. He loves taekwondo and playing the violin, and is excited to visit Ireland with his family this summer.
It’s stories like Nathan’s that continue to keep us motivated and working hard here at Embrace Innovations. Thank you for making it all possible! Watch his story below.
With Spring in full swing, the days are getting longer, and the nights are getting shorter. And, maybe at your house- the nights are already short with a little one that keeps you awake! It may seem daunting to overcome the challenges of getting your baby to sleep through the night.

Recently, we met the mom of one of these babies. Here is the story of Dr. Sheetal Amte-Karajgi, whose baby was born prematurely in a remote village in India, and saved by the Embrace infant incubator.
Tell us about yourself!
I work as the Chief Executive Officer for one of India’s leading non-profits, Maharogi Sewa Sarniti, operating in of the most remote districts of Central India.
How did you hear about the Embrace infant incubator?
I had severe gestational diabetes, which was further complicated due to severe blood sugar fluctuations. So the doctors decided to do an elective C-section 3 weeks before the expected date of delivery. My son was born prematurely so he needed immediate warmth to keep his body temperature constant.
Dr. Anand Bhutada, a leading neonatologist in Nagpur was able to provide the Embrace incubator. I had not heard of Embrace until I saw my baby wrapped in it. Dr. Anand was very kind to send me the first photo of my son Sharvil wrapped in it, which saved his life.
How old is your son now?
My son Sharvil is now 3 1/2 years old and he is a very playful young boy. He loves jigsaw puzzles, excavators, planting trees and our dog.
Thank you for sharing your story Dr. Sheetal Amte-Karajgi!

Dear Little Lotus Community,
As January comes to an end, we want to take some time to highlight some of the moms and babies we've helped with the Embrace incubator. Here are their stories:
This is Belmati Bodra from Gulika, a small village in Jharkhand. Her husband works as a laborer to support his family. When their baby was born, they traveled to the nearest district to deliver the baby in a hospital. Because the baby was born underweight, their he was placed in the Embrace infant warmer. The baby and mother are both doing well now.
Shamko Bai belongs to the Banjara community from a small village in Anta, Baran district, Rajasthan. She gave birth to twins at the community health center. One of the babies weighed just 1.75 kg, and was hypothermic at 35.6°C. The Embrace infant warmer was used to raise her baby's temperature and played a major role in stabilizing her baby's condition.
We recently began a partnership with One Heart Worldwide, an amazing nonprofit organization working on saving mothers and babies in Nepal. They just began deploying the Embrace infant warmers in the field this month, and we're eager to see the impact they make.
Thanks to Little Lotus sales, we are also starting a project with Nuru International in Kenya this quarter, and are in process of figuring out logistics for shipping our warmers to their sites.
We are thankful for all your support and together, we hope to continue our journey in helping those in need as we expand into more countries this year.
Dear Little Lotus Community,

Dear Little Lotus Community,
Our hearts go out to everyone affected by the floods in Louisiana. We recently got an update from one of our customers, whose family had to evacuate their home:
We are so glad to know that Little Lotus played even a small role in helping Christopher's little one find comfort during this time of stress.
We'd love to hear from you and share with our community how Little Lotus has made a difference in your life! If you have a story to share, please email us at info@littlelotusbaby.com.

Dear Little Lotus Community,
Thanks to your contribution to our 1:1 model of giving, you helped us save the life of a baby in India. One of our nonprofit partners just gave us an update about Sarita, a mother in India who gave birth to her baby prematurely. Her baby was severely underweight and in need of temperature regulation. He was placed in an Embrace warmer, which helped stabilize his temperature, following which he was released from the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit within a week's time.
We love hearing stories like these - it's what keeps us going as we work around the clock here at Little Lotus to get the best products to you and your baby.
Here is the story of Sarita Devi:
Sarita Devi, a mother of two, from Daulatpur hamlet, Murgiabigha delivered her second baby at 35 weeks of gestation in Paraiya PHC . The baby was severely underweight at 1.5 kg (3.3 lbs.). He was also hypothermic with a temperature of 35.7 ℃ (96.3 ℉). The baby was too weak to cry after birth and needed special medical attention.
As the baby was hypothermic, he needed to be placed in an incubator, but the radiant warmer in the facility was not working at the time. Fortunately, they had the Embrace warmer on hand. The PHC staff decided to place the baby in the Embrace warmer and by the time he was ready to be transferred to a hospital, his temperature had stabilized at 37 ℃ (98.6 ℉).
The baby was also kept in the Embrace warmer during the transfer so that his temperature could be maintained. After arriving at the Magadh Medical College and Hospital safely, the baby spent a week in the NICU after which, he was discharged at the weight of 1.7 kg (3.7 lbs).
The Paraiya PHC staff was very happy with the fact that they could save the baby's life by using the Embrace warmer, both in the facility and during transfer.
With every purchase of a Little Lotus product, a baby in need will be helped by the Embrace warmer. We're still offering free shipping on all pre-orders (to be shipped mid-September) so come visit us at www.littlelotusbaby.com and check out our new prints!

Dear Little Lotus moms,
Happy Mother's Day! We want to celebrate the global community of mothers today, and to honor the courage, love, and hope of the women we meet through our work. They remind us there is nothing more pure and selfless than the love a mother has for her child -- and the compassion moms have for helping other moms.
Thank you for being a part of our community, and our mission to help moms around the world. Each Little Lotus purchase goes towards helping a less fortunate mother, like Sujatha, a woman I met in India years ago. Sujatha lost three of her children, but had the courage to adopt a baby girl, and use her experiences to help other women in her village. She continues to be an inspiration to me, and you can read her story here.
Happy Mother's Day to all mothers, for the love they bring to this world!
